Who knows if that might last? Here, bus stops (including the one right outside the police station) rarely go more than a couple of weeks without being vandalised. Community planting areas are similarly attacked despite being in full view of houses.

Though a green bus stop roof in Sheffield is scant consolation for the loss of so many street trees. I have visions of the council's contractors sawing off the support struts at ground level if the green roof grows.JohnKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14287357763171250125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3628970595252387812.post-20777876627343457942017-06-23T18:00:36.883+01:002017-06-23T18:00:36.883+01:00Now there is an image I like Mark!!Now there is an image I like Mark!!Sara Vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01194791616684419782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3628970595252387812.post-37219116186969289282017-06-23T11:58:12.294+01:002017-06-23T11:58:12.294+01:00I agree with your sentiments, Sara. The excuse "it would be too expensive" just doesn't ring true when you see the huge amount of carbon-embedded materials an "ordinary" bus-shelter uses. I'm envisaging the commuters going to work each morning taking a bottle of water (re-fillable, of course!)- not for themselves, but for the plants at their bus-stop!Mark Willishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04558305122821209520noreply@blogger.com
